Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı'nın 52. yıl dönümü, KKTC İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu ve Kıbrıs Türk Kültür Derneği (KTKD) İstanbul Şubesi'nin ev sahipliğinde 20 Temmuz 2026 Pazartesi akşamı Artİstanbul Feshane'de, düzenlenen görkemli bir resepsiyonla kutlandı.

Tarihi Feshane bahçesi, Kıbrıs davasına gönül vermiş yüzlerce davetliyi ağırlarken, gece boyunca milli duyguların ve kardeşlik bağlarının en yoğun halleri yaşandı.

Resepsiyon, şehitler için saygı duruşu ve ardından hep bir ağızdan okunan İstiklal Marşı ile başladı. Protokol konuşmalarında ise adeta tarih yeniden canlandı.

Artİstanbul Feshane'de düzenlenen resepsiyona, İstanbul Vali Yardımcısı Avni Kula, KKTC'nin İstanbul Başkonsolosu Zalihe Mendeli, İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediye Başkan Vekili Nuri Aslan, 1. KTKD Başkanı Zehra Bilge Eray yaptığı duygusal konuşmada 1963-1974 yılları arasında Kıbrıs Türklerinin yaşadığı zorluklar ve Rum saldırıları sıkça hatırlatıldı. 1974 öncesine dönülmesine izin verilmeyeceği ifade edildi.

Eray, "Çocuklarımız banyo odalarında katledildi, 103 köyümüzden olduk. Ama asla boyun eğmedik. Bugün burada gururla haykırıyoruz: 1974 öncesine dönülmesine izin vermeyeceğiz!" diyerek mekandan büyük alkış aldı.

Mücahitler Marşı'nın okunduğu anlarda yaşanan duygusal yoğunluk, Kıbrıs davasının sadece bir siyasi mesele değil, bir varoluş ve gönül meselesi olduğunu bir kez daha gösterdi.

İstanbul'un kalbinde, tarihi Feshane'nin büyülü atmosferinde gerçekleşen bu anlamlı buluşma, Kıbrıs Türkü'nün özgürlük ateşinin sönmediğinin ve 52 yıl önceki gibi bugün de Anavatan Türkiye ile kenetlendiğinin en güçlü kanıtı oldu.

Heyetteki diğer isimler de Kıbrıs Türk halkının 52 yıl önce gösterdiği kahramanlığın bugün hâlâ tüm Türk dünyasına ilham kaynağı olduğunu belirterek, Rum kesiminin uzlaşmaz tutumuna karşı KKTC'nin haklı duruşunun uluslararası kamuoyunda daha güçlü savunulması gerektiğinin altını çizdi.

 Öte yandan, Of Hayrat Kültür ve Yardımlaşma Cemiyeti yönetimi de geniş bir heyetle adadaki resmi tören ve anma programlarında yerini aldı. Cyprus Wind Blew at Feshane

Pride of 52 Years: A Night Full of Enthusiasm and Emotion at Feshane

The 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation was celebrated with a magnificent reception hosted by the TRNC Istanbul Consulate General and the Cyprus Turkish Culture Association (KTKD) Istanbul Branch on Monday evening, July 20, 2026, at Artİstanbul Feshane.

The historic Feshane garden hosted hundreds of guests devoted to the Cyprus cause, while the night witnessed the most intense moments of national feelings and brotherhood bonds.

The reception began with a moment of silence for the martyrs, followed by the Turkish National Anthem sung in unison. During the protocol speeches, history came alive once again.

Wide Participation

The reception held at Artİstanbul Feshane was attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Avni Kula, the Consul General of the TRNC in Istanbul Zalihe Mendeli, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan, Commander of the 1st Army General Bahtiyar Ersay and military officials, Cyprus veterans, families of martyrs, and numerous other guests.

Emphasis on Sovereignty and Independence

In the speeches, commitment to the TRNC's sovereign equality and the two-state solution model was strongly expressed.

Historical Struggle and "Bloody Christmas"

KTKD President Zehra Bilge Eray, in her emotional speech, reminded the difficulties experienced by Turkish Cypriots between 1963-1974 and the Greek attacks. It was stated that a return to the pre-1974 era would not be allowed.

Eray said, "Our children were murdered in bathrooms, we lost 103 villages. But we never bowed down. Today we proudly shout here: We will not allow a return to the pre-1974 era!" receiving great applause from the venue.

TRNC Istanbul Consul General Zalihe Mendeli

"The whole world must understand this very well: as children of the Turkish nation, we are wholeheartedly committed to our motherland Turkey. We are like flesh and nail with our motherland, and there is only one law between us, and that is the law of brotherhood."

Mendeli clearly stated the current political stance with the words: "Our sovereign equality must be accepted."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan

In his speech, Aslan stated, "The Cyprus issue, which holds a very special place in the shared memory of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, is a struggle for existence, freedom, security, and equality." He added, "We will continue to fulfill our responsibility to strengthen our solidarity with the municipalities of Cyprus, from Nicosia to Kyrenia, from Famagusta to Güzelyurt."

Istanbul Deputy Governor

Stating that Turkey establishes peace and tranquility wherever it goes, he said: "Our ancestors never engaged in exploitation or massacre anywhere, and they left us a glorious history."

The night was not only about political messages but also emotional moments. The Cyprus veterans present at the venue could not hold back their tears during the speeches, while it was noteworthy that the younger generations also shared this enthusiasm.

The emotional intensity during the singing of the Mücahitler March once again showed that the Cyprus cause is not just a political issue but a matter of existence and heartfelt commitment.

This meaningful gathering, held in the heart of Istanbul in the magical atmosphere of historic Feshane, became the strongest evidence that the freedom fire of the Turkish Cypriots has not extinguished and that, just as 52 years ago, they remain united with their Motherland Turkey today.

Hanna Akyüz from the Zafer Party and Her Delegation Gave a Message of Honor in Cyprus

Not only official delegations but also important names from the political sphere attended the 52nd anniversary celebrations of the Cyprus Peace Operation. This year, a remarkable participation took place within the ranks of the Zafer Party. Hanna Akyüz, one of the party's prominent figures, and her delegation attended the reception held at Feshane, offering strong support to the honor of Turkish Cypriotness and the independence cause. In our exclusive interview:

Hanna Akyüz and her group emphasized that the Cyprus cause is an indispensable matter of honor for the Turkish nation. Akyüz stated: "Protecting the legacy of our martyrs who wrote their homeland with their blood on these lands is a debt of honor for all of us. Today, we proclaim here that the freedom fire of the Turkish Cypriots has not been extinguished and that Turkey's guarantee to the young homeland will last forever. As the Victory Party, our belief in Cyprus's sovereign equality and the two-state solution model is complete."

Other members of the delegation also stated that the heroism shown by the Turkish Cypriot people 52 years ago still serves as an inspiration to the entire Turkish world today, and emphasized that the TRNC's rightful stance against the uncompromising attitude of the Greek side must be defended more strongly in the international public opinion.

The delegation also extended their special thanks to TRNC Istanbul Consul General Zalihe Mendeli and her team for their close interest shown to them.

On the other hand, the management of the Of Hayrat Culture and Solidarity Association also took their place in the official ceremonies and commemoration programs on the island with a large delegation. Avrasya Ekonomi Zirvesi’nin en dikkat çeken oturumlarından biri olan “Küresel Liderler Diyaloğu – Bilge İnsanlar Oturumu”, geçmiş dönem cumhurbaşkanlarını, devlet adamlarını ve uluslararası fikir önderlerini aynı masada buluşturdu.

“Küresel Sorumluluk” temasıyla düzenlenen oturumda; savaşlar, terör, istemsiz göçler, Avrupa Birliği’nin geleceği, küresel sistemde yaşanan kırılmalar ve savaş sonrası dünyanın yeni dengeleri masaya yatırıldı.

“Avrasya Ekonomi Zirveleri Hür Bir Platformdur”

Oturumun moderatörlüğünü yapan Dr. Akkan Suver açılış konuşmasında Avrasya Ekonomi Zirveleri’nin özgür düşüncenin ve çok sesli diplomasinin en önemli uluslararası platformlarından biri olduğunu vurguladı.

Suver, farklı kıtalardan gelen devlet adamlarını, akademisyenleri ve genç diplomasi öğrencilerini İstanbul’da buluşturmanın önemine dikkat çekerek, “Dünya bugün diyaloga her zamankinden daha fazla ihtiyaç duyuyor” mesajı verdi.

Liderlerin ortak değerlendirmelerinde, dünyanın artık tek merkezli bir yapıdan uzaklaşarak çok kutuplu yeni bir döneme geçtiği vurgulandı.

Konuşmalarda; Avrupa Birliği’nin siyasi ve ekonomik baskılar karşısında önemli bir sınav verdiği, demokrasi, insan hakları ve uluslararası hukuk kavramlarının küresel ölçekte zayıfladığı ifade edildi.

Ayrıca savaşların, göç krizlerinin ve enerji güvenliği sorunlarının yalnızca bölgesel değil insanlığın ortak meselesi olduğu dile getirildi.

Abdullah Gül’den Avrupa ve Uluslararası Hukuk Vurgusu

Abdullah Gül konuşmasında uluslararası hukuk ve demokratik değerlerin son yıllarda ciddi aşınma yaşadığına dikkat çekti.

Gül, büyük güçlerin çıkar merkezli politikalarının dünya düzenini sarstığını belirterek Avrupa’nın kendi değerlerine daha güçlü sahip çıkması gerektiğini söyledi.

Yapay zekâ ve yeni teknolojilerin oluşturduğu küresel risklere de değinen Gül, devletlerin bu alanlarda ortak hukuk ve denetim mekanizmaları oluşturmasının önemine işaret etti.

Küresel Sorunlar ve Avrupa’nın Geleceği Masaya Yatırıldı

Oturumda liderler; Avrupa Birliği’nin geleceği , Küresel güvenlik, Savaş sonrası dünya düzeni, Enerji güvenliği, İklim değişikliği, Su kaynaklarının korunması, Yapay zekâ ve dijital dönüşüm, Göç hareketleri ve kültürel dönüşüm süreçleri üzerine kapsamlı değerlendirmelerde bulundu.

Akkan Suver: “30. Yılımızda Yeniden Buluşacağız”

Kapanış konuşmasını yapan Dr. Akkan Suver, liderlerin yaptığı değerlendirmelerin ilerleyen süreçte İngilizce kitap halinde yayımlanacağını açıkladı.

Suver ayrıca organizasyonda görev alan tercümanlara, güvenlik güçlerine ve tüm çalışanlara teşekkür ederek, “Seneye 30. Avrasya Ekonomi Zirvesi’nde yeniden buluşacağız” dedi.

Anadolu Folk Grubu Geceye Renk Kattı

Zirvenin kapanış yemeğinde kültür ve sanat ön plana çıktı.

Göksenin İleri başkanlığında ve Didem Coşkun koordinasyonunda sahne alan Anadolu Folk Grubu Karadeniz Halk Topluluğu’nun gösterisi geceye damga vurdu.

Horon gösterisine salonun tamamının katılması ise unutulmaz anlara sahne oldu. Diplomasi ile kültürün aynı atmosferde buluştuğu gece, Avrasya Ekonomi Zirvesi’nin uluslararası dostluk ve kültürel birliktelik yönünü bir kez daha gözler önüne serdi.

Global Conscience and Diplomacy Meet in Istanbul

One of the most remarkable sessions of the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit, held on May 13, 2026 at WOW Hotel & Convention Center in Istanbul, was the “Global Leaders Dialogue – Wise People Session,” which brought together former presidents, statesmen, and international opinion leaders around the same table.

Held under the theme of “Global Responsibility,” the session focused on wars, terrorism, forced migration, the future of the European Union, fractures within the global system, and the new balance of the post-war world.

“Eurasian Economic Summits Are a Free Platform”

Dr. Akkan Suver, moderator of the session, emphasized in his opening speech that the Eurasian Economic Summits represent one of the most important international platforms for free thought and multilateral diplomacy.

Highlighting the importance of bringing together statesmen, academics, and young diplomacy students from different continents in Istanbul, Suver stated, “Today, the world needs dialogue more than ever before.”

“The Era of a Unipolar World Has Ended”

In their joint assessments, the leaders emphasized that the world is moving away from a single-centered structure toward a new multipolar era.

Speakers noted that the European Union is facing a critical political and economic test, while democracy, human rights, and international law have weakened globally.

They also stressed that wars, migration crises, and energy security issues are not merely regional concerns but common challenges for all humanity.

Abdullah Gül’s Emphasis on Europe and International Law

In his speech, Abdullah Gül underlined the serious erosion of international law and democratic values in recent years.

Gül stated that interest-based policies pursued by major powers have shaken the global order and emphasized that Europe must stand more firmly behind its own values.

Referring to the global risks created by artificial intelligence and new technologies, Gül highlighted the importance of international cooperation and legal mechanisms in these fields.

Global Issues and the Future of Europe Discussed

During the session, leaders exchanged comprehensive views on:
the future of the European Union, global security, the post-war world order, energy security, climate change, protection of water resources, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, migration movements, and cultural transformation processes.

Strong Participation from Marmara Group Foundation Delegation and Rapporteurs

Representing the Marmara Group Foundation at the meeting were Oğuzhan Ceylan and Ümran Köksüz.

The rapporteur duties were carried out by Prof. Dr. Turan Ece, Ece Şahin, Prof. Dr. İzzet Taşar, Erol Altaş, and Zafer Yılmaz.

Akkan Suver: “We Will Meet Again in Our 30th Year”

In his closing remarks, Dr. Akkan Suver announced that the leaders’ speeches and evaluations would later be published in an English-language book.

Suver also thanked the interpreters, security teams, and all staff members involved in the organization, saying, “We will meet again next year at the 30th Eurasian Economic Summit.”

Anadolu Folk Group Added Color to the Evening

Culture and art came to the forefront during the summit’s closing dinner.

The performance by the Black Sea Folk Ensemble of the Anadolu Folk Group, led by Göksenin İleri and coordinated by Didem Coşkun, received great applause from participants.

The entire hall joining the horon dance created unforgettable moments. The night, where diplomacy and culture met in the same atmosphere, once again demonstrated that the Eurasian Economic Summit is not only an economic platform but also a bridge of international friendship and cultural unity.
